Fyrinnae

This was a small purchase that was $20 from Fyrinnae, and I love this stuff. While there are some faults, they are my own and not the company's fault. The shipping was fast and free with a purchase of $20. So it was my first time, and I was pretty happy with this purchase. Look at that orangeish coral blush on the right.
I am going to do a review and swatches in a while, but just a sneak peek.

Rawr, the colors are so pretty and pigmented, but unfortunately not right for my skintone. But still I managed to make it work and will tell you in the next post.

April Showers Bring...

...waterproof eyeliners. It has been raining quite a bit here, and because of that I've been wearing less makeup. I never want something to smudge, and there are a few products, that keep my makeup on, even when I'm melting. I have never had an eyeliner that truly stayed on my skin without it smudging. Even the famed Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes smudges something fierce on my eyelid, and I never line my lower lids completely. But ever since I bought this Bare Escentuals Weather Everything Liner Sealer, I no longer have to worry about my upper lid eyeliner from either creasing, flaking, smudging and disappearing. $18, and the best investment I have ever made, besides the Etude Dr. Fixer.

Comes like this in a stopper bottle and a well. It states that you can mix pigments and eyeshadows, to make eyeliners, but I never got the consistency right, and always had this flake on me. I use this to set my eyeliner, and have used this on my pencil, liquid and gel eyeliners, and it has worked on all three. You need to barely dampen your brush and pat it on, no swiping, or else it will wipe off the liner. Then wait for it to dry. It takes about a minute to dry, so don't open your eyes fully. You need very little, and sometimes, even one drop is too much. And make sure to clean your brush after, or else it will get stiff and will need to clean it with a dishwashing soap.

This thing lasts forever, and as an example, I got caught in the rain with a broken umbrella, and had to walk four blocks in the rain, with no umbrella. But yet when I got home, my Urban Decay liquid eyeliner was still on. The only strange thing, is that it smudges on my lower lashline, but not the top and I would not out this on my waterline. Sure it may not seem like much, but for people like me, who have struggled with smudgy eyeliner, this is perfect. Btw, best combo, is the Wet N' Wild creme liner, plus this, and I believe that you can go out in a rainstorm and still have perfect eyeliner.

My precious HG. People who don't have oily lids, can probably just use the Wet N' Wild creme liner, but oily, heavily hooded people, you need this.

Unrelated Blog Post

Look at that park. I drool because I've been trying to jog, and I can only do this in my neighborhood, which isn't really great for jogging. Tuesday is trash day so everyone leaves their garbage out in the street and jogging in that, especially in warmer weather is not pleasant. Sure I could go to a park, but getting there is not worth the hassle since it is fifteen minutes away by car. I'm so jealous of that lady in the pink shirt, but I think right now, I'm more of the lady in the hot pink pants. An annoying habit that Ive noticed was that if I saw someone coming, then I would stop jogging and just walk. If I saw that someone was going to share the same sidewalk, I just cross the street. It's odd but I try to avoid everyone on my route. The worst part is, that the route that I take has me run by a preschool nursery type of thing, and I pass by there everyday and I saw a mom hustling their kid away from me. Geez lady, I'm not a perv and I will not steal your kids in broad daylight. Despite my Disney princess shirt, (its old and its comfy) I am not some sort of sicko, I just like working out in old, loose clothing and that is all I have available at that time. Odd post, huh?

Smashbox

Whee! Bargain Alert! GO! Sign up at Smashbox and get a free birthday kit. Along with free shipping, I got a lots of cute samples. I got the big tube of lipgloss for 10 dollars, but other than that, everything was free with free shipping. Sample of primer, Lash DNA, O-gloss along with the eyeshadow w/liner, and the lipgloss as the birthday gift.

The lip gloss is tiny. I think more went into making the packaging and shipping, instead of my actual order. The red lip gloss looks disappointing and will try it out before any further comments, but the mini lip gloss in Pout is beautiful and would totally considering buying that in full tube.

Cargo Lash Activator

Cargo is discontinued at Sephora, but this mascara is still there, at a drug store price. I would totally recommend this for people who volume, not length. I normally look for volume, and not length, because since I wear glasses, having longer lashes means that they rub against the glass and smudges. This is my bare lashes. There is nothing special about the formula, the wand has tiny plastic bristles that get larger at the base.

One coat, but due to horrible photography, you can't see how good it really is. Look at my lower lashes, in the middle, where the mascara has touched, compared to the outer corner. There is a big difference. Went from miniscule to defined. It really doesn't hold the curl fairly well and with two coats, its a little too dramatic for daytime wear. But I still love it.

The only thing that bugs me is the original price. This was billed for $35 dollars when it came out, I bought a backup of it when it was on sale for around $7 and now the price went back up to $8 something. Geez, has Sephora and/or Cargo been ripping me off? Probably, but didn't stop me from buying a backup. Sigh...

Dry and Oily Skin

I've always complained about having oily skin, but lately there has been a strange phenomena occuring on my skin's surface. It has been afflicted with tiny bumps that itch but aren't red, nor are they pimples. I thought they were hives, or some sort of allergic reaction my skin care products. But how strange, my routine hasn't changed, nor have I eaten anything to really warrant an allergic reaction. So I haven't been putting on any makeup because not only do I not want to further irritate it and also because My foundation or powder seems bumpy and uneven when I apply it. So what happened? Dry skin.

What? Dry skin... I've never..but my skin is so oily..I've never thought of it as dry skin, but my sister, who has worked at a dermatology and also has dry skin touched my skin once and said, yup dry skin. So her solution was to change my regular moisturizer, which is liquidy and water, and light to this.
Clinique's Moisture Surge sold for $34-46.50 st Sephora. This is my sister's regular moisturizer so I managed to steal some and try it out. Lo and behold, two to three days later, the bumps started to disappear, and while it hasn't fully healed, it has gotten a lot better. Maybe it's the weather, since its been really erratic here in NY, or maybe its just something else, but for now, this stuff is like gold to me. I probably should have done a before and after, but I'm sorry I forgot. So until my skin heals, no makeup, but that means my monstrous tube of BB cream is going unused. Btw I only have half of it left, but its preventing me from buying other foundations and now I can't stand it. Trips to Sephora and drugstores are on hiatus and I still haven't used that madness coupon and it's driving me angry. Oh well, until then I'm just going to be sitting on my hands, hoping for no more impulse buys.

Nail Colors and Fashion Advice

I have quite the nail polish collection, not to brag, but my mom has jokingly stated that I have more colors than a tiny nail salon and that I should stop. I laughed it off, but then as I passed by a small salon, I realized that she was right. The horror of actually realizing that my mom was right is not something an older grown up woman should realize. So no matter how old you are, I guess mom is always right. Just to put the colors that I have to good use...

Yay! I love bright colors, and since winter is gone I can put on crazy colors again. A word of warning, if you intend to have bright nails, and makeup, I recommend going easy on the clothes. I had to change into a dark pair of jeans and a white tee after my sister told me that my bright green striped shirt and colorful jewelery made me look like a circus clown reject. She said, and I quote "What the Hell, Kel, you look like you tried out for the clown position and failed because you weren't bright enough, yet it looks like you tried hard, really hard." But on the bright side I got compliments on my nails from a waitress where I went for brunch. But these started to chip easily and I had to switch.
Back to dark colored nails. Whomp, Whomp, Whomp..Fail. But I swear these are temporary, and as soon as the weekend comes, I'm going back to bright colors and revisit all of the colors in my polish collection instead of buying new ones this summer. None of the polishes look really good, unless its the mint green ones that I've been eyeing but can't find at my local drugstores. If I find it, then, awww snap... Watch out! Mama will open up a spot for that one in her collection.

Bloopers

I think that I'm just really crappy at this whole picture taking, putting on makeup thing. Either that or some alien forces have just taken control and have forced some mysterious force to just follow me around and make things happen that mildly annoy me. I thought that it was bad having something major go wrong, but its even worse when everything just tweaks itself to be a minor inconvenience. Case in point. Busy snapping photos, doing my eyes, then at the final step, Bam! WTH? I thought my mascara had gone bad, but I just recently got this in the previously mentioned Legally Bronze set from Benefit, and I've used this Bad Gal mascara only once... so what the heck happened? Turns out the top stopper of the tube got pulled to the top of the wand instead of being glued to the tube, and didn't squeegee off the excess. So putting the rubber top back on resulted in dirty hands.

If you can see, there is a spot of mascara on my curtains now because when I was trying to photograph the wand, you can guess what happened. After wiping that off, and finally taking the final shot, I noticed that my wonky outer lashes were acting up again.
Can you see the long lash just dangling by itself being rebellious? I got lazy and wasn't going to search for my mini curler, nor did I want to waste time waiting for the heated lash curler to well... heat up. Rawr!! Minor inconvenience day. It wasn't just the makeup, but other little things went wrong today. AH! watch out for the mysterious forces today and to creep you out, I thought this picture of my eye quite creepy. It reminds me of people holding a flashlight to their faces while telling scary stories.
BOO!

Urban Decay Lip Stain in Envious

This is one of my favorite lip colors ever and as you may have noticed. it is red. I cannot pull off red lip colors, with a few exceptions and this is one of them. The Urban Decay lip stain in Envious can be a light sheer red tint or built up to a full red cherry colored lip stain. It makes your lips stand out and if you have clear pale skin, this color with minimal eye makeup would make your skin look like a porcelain doll. This on me, reminded me of Snow White, with her fair skin and bright red lips, but I think that this would work well on all skin types but best on fairer skin tones. This is the exact color that shows on my lips and it stays put. The only thing is this scent, that I really can't describe, doesn't really smell like anything I've smelled before. It's odd and mildly unpleasant but I will risk it and continue to put this on regardless. You can layer it for a deeper red, however if want only a light color, I recommend putting chapstick on as a base, so that it acts as a barrier and can't penetrate, .

This is after I rubbed this off, and you can still see the tint of red left on my hand. It looks like a strange birthmark. I got this during the Urban Decay's last sale and it retails for $17. They have two colors only, which is a shame, but the other color doesn't really attract me, however this is a beautiful color and would definitely recommend this.

Tony Moly Hand Cream

I usually get dry hands since I do the dishes constantly, so I always moisturize my hands. I got this Tony Moly hand cream at Sasa.com. Doesn't this look like someone mooning you? Just cover the top pink part and squint a little. No? Maybe I'm just a perv. This thing smells sweet and if anyone has ever had those 2% peach Korean water drinks, this smells just like it. For others who haven't had a chance to taste that, this smells like a really sweet artificial peach. Packaging is super adorable but did nothing for the hands. I really wouldn't repurchase this, and by the way, avoid that chocolate lotion next to the peach. This really smelled like truffles and I wanted to lick myself but in a few minutes, this thing made me break out in hives. Argh.
The next on my review agenda is this. I love this and got a backup of this during the Urban Decay sale.

Urban Decay

Urban Decay is one of my favorite brands and have made some of my favorite eye shadows that are easy to blend, with amazing colors and has vibrant pigmentation. They are currently having a sale for 30% off with the code 1SFNF. Go and try either their palattes or lip stains. I place my order yesterday night and it has already shipped so I recommend going to check it out now.

Wet 'n' Wild Silk Finish Lipstick in 521A

I still haven't been able to find a mint green nail color and have managed to feel even worse by going out and getting other green polishes, hoping that they would soothe the beast, but to no success. Now it has become imperative that I find it. On the other hand, I've managed to create marbleing on my nails, courtesy of YouTube videos, and while it look crappy in this photo, I assure you that this looks good.

I am all about trying new colors, and I recently fell in love with this on first glance. Usually, Wet N' Wild Lipsticks aren't my favorite because the colors look absolutely bring, but this one immediately caught my eye. This is a bold fuchsia with a purplish, blueish tint added with a glossy finish. It glides on smooth, it can be dabbed on for a more subtle look but packed on for a dramatic look.
It may look blah and boring, but I just really suck at capturing photos, so don't blame the lipstick. It glistens purple in the sun and it is just pretty. Not of the faint of heart, but it is only 99 cents, so even if you didn't like it, it wasn't a big waste. No lipgloss on top needed.
Only bad thing is that I found this to stain the back of my hand a little, but not my lip. This means that you have to be careful with application because if it gets on your skin, not mouth, it can leave a streak mark.
