Derma Relief Hydra Emulsion from Merdiem

Do you know what sucks? Right after I posted my updated face with no cystic acne that I boasted about, I ended up breaking out again. Damn it! It's not that bad and nothing to stress about.

Skincare is a big thing in Korea and most people there have a set and complicated routine. It's not something so simple as slapping on lotion, but it requires about 6 or more different products that all play a crucial role. When I was younger, I always thought that they were crazy, but as I get older, I'm finding out that my daily routine is getting larger and much more complicated. Do you see crows feet around my eyes? No because I try to maintain my skin. My sister is the one with naturally blessed genetics but it's up to me to take care of my fussy dermis. I do acknowledge that my skin could be better, but I'm also lazy. One day without toner and my skin breaks out. Le sigh.

The Derma Relief Hydra Emulsion from Merdiem was a Christmas gift from my mother because a sales lady recommended it for acne prone and sensitive skin. Not sure where you can purchase but unfortunately, she left the price tag on it and it retails for around $42 or 62. I know that there is a big gap but honestly I forgot which one it was.

If you read the packaging, it's clearly not for acne skin but for aging skin using "plant stem cell technology". My mom was duped! I didn't mind because I do need the extra pick me up. My face looks really haggard and tore up lately. Just a note here. It states that it's an emulsion but I use it as a lotion and do not use any other products with this. You're supposed to use a serum, lotion and all this other stuff, but since I don't want extra product on my face I just use this alone at night.

It's a hefty pump bottle but it turns out that it only has 150ml of product. My Aveeno moisturizer has 120 ml and retails for $12. Not a lot of product. It also has a strong cosmetic scent that lasts for a long time. It's those I don't really mind it much but wish that it wasn't there kind of scent.

The product itself is extremely light and not very viscous. However, it doesn't run all over the place. Since it's winter, I should be wearing heavier product but this emulsion seems to do the job. It keeps my face moisturized without a heavy or greasy feeling. I think that this could transition into a summer lotion as well. This doesn't break me out, but I think that the reason for that is my tea tree toner. But it's non irritating and my skin looks fine even without a lotion on it. I use a pump for my whole face at night and it keeps me from looking too oily when I wake up. As for the anti aging properties... well I don't see any signs of it working. I probably wouldn't recommend this because it's hard to get and doesn't deliver on its anti-aging promise. It's just a decent moisturizer but for the price, I'd rather not.

My sister's birthday is rapidly approaching and I'm still at a loss as to what she wants. I know that I have to trek to Chinatown to pick up some Beauty Diary masks, but still not sure on what to get her. I don't know how to top my espresso machine from Christmas, which was freaking awesome. I was thinking of taking her and her friends to either a drag show or a strip show since one of her friends share the same birthday month and I adore her and her man seeking ass. Any ideas?
