Ralph Lauren's Ralph

My camera is nowhere to be found so that means no pictures or real reviews until I can find it. But I just want to let you know about a new fragrance I've been loving. When I was younger, I absolutely loved sweet scents, and detested anything else. I mostly used Britney Spears perfume Fantasy. Aquolina's Sugar would have been right up my alley, but now I've found out that my tastes have changed. Burberry Beat, Stella by Stella McCartney, Michael Kors Very Hollywood, and Dior J'adore have been more of my usual tastes. Not to say that I don't still enjoy the sweet ones, but now I find it too cloying and sickly sweet. Now, I tend to gravitate to light, still a bit sweeter florals. I have found a perfume that combines my old and new tastes. Behold, my new summer fragrance.

It's refreshing, still sweet, clean, crisp, and my new love. I have a rollerball that carry, and plan to get the full size. Sephora lists its ingredients as Apple Tree Leaves, Yellow Freesia, Italian Mandarin, Japanese Loquat, Osmanthus, Magnolia, Linden Blossom Flower, Purple Freesia, Boronia, Musk 2000, White Orris. I don't know what the hell is in the latter half, but I assure you that the combination of all of them is delicious. Nicely floral, but still sweet. Not sweet like sugar candy, but a more floral sweet.

Don't really know how to describe it and since fragrances tend to differ on each person, try it out in store. Spray it, and then wear it for one day. If you like it, then go back. Don't buy fragrances that smell nice on the spot because the smell changes according to your body chemistry. Ralph is just a recommendation that I'm just putting out there, and the rollerball costs$20. It lasts on a good amount of time, and if not, you can either, spray this in some unscented body lotion and then on your body, or put some Vaseline on your wrists prior to spraying the perfume. These methods will help your perfumes lasts a bit longer.

Will try to find my camera and will get back to you with a review on something.

Non Makeup related

Just wanted to do a random post on something different. Will be doing a makeup related post next. Had my sister do my nails, and they look so pretty with silver glitter tips. Thank you unnie.
I went to my cousin's first birthday and ate so much. Congrats Izzy, cheers to one of the cutest baby ever, EVER. Afterwards, my sister and I stopped by the Paris Baguette bakery. I've been lagging in the exercise department lately, but will pick it up later. But Paris baguette was all over in Korea, and they've opened up a few places here in NYC. Every time I go to Flushing, I have to pick up some things, but if you go too late, everything is sold out so get there in the morning. Everything looks too good, but is is a bit pricey.
Five dollars for a mini cake. Pictured: Mini food porn at its best. A tiramisu, NY Style Cheesecake, and a Milk Custard. The cakes were okay, but would not buy again, but the custard was melt in your mouth with sugar on the bottom, a bit watery but silky, smooth ... I lost my train of thought. They give you a cute spoon to eat it with, since the mouth of the bottle is too small, but that god its in flushing or I would totally need, NEED to get this everyday. Skip the cakes, go for the custard and pastries.
My parents have been gardening, and look at this.

Ah! A cute, tiny, homegrown strawberry. My mom had picked four from her backyard, and it was a miracle that the birds haven't gotten to them yet. It was the size of my thumb nail and was so cute and delicious. I love summer. I will be back posting other things but need to practice driving again, my test is in two weeks. Wish me luck.

Loreal Infallible Never Fail Lipstick

I'm completely depressed. Today I've failed my driver's test. Yes, this happens to almost everybody, but still. I thought I was good. Why have I started to get my license now? Living in nyc means readily available public transportation so I really haven't needed a car. On top of that I never had to worry about gas, insurance or any repair or other expenses. Agrh...I've been pretty busy and haven't gotten any free time, on top of horrible acne coming on, days have been incredibly crappy so far. So retail therapy is necessary.

Onto the review for Loreal Infallible Never Fail Lipstick, in 20 Gardenia on left, 40 Amber on right. This does not budge without oil based makeup. I comes with one white conditioning tube and one color. The lipsticks seem a bit small at 2.1g, but there is no need to reapply, guaranteed.

If you look carefully on the bottom, you can still see some leftover lipstick swatches fro five days ago. I do my own housework, so that means dishes, laundry, and cooking, on top of that, I also make sure to wash my hands fairly often, so yeah.
The colors are a bit shimmery and the tube and the actual colors vary a bit. But I got mine for like $3 on 75% off. Whohoo! It's smooth, doesn't dry out the lips and if you make a mistake, get out the oil based makeup remover. You sort of have to scrub to remove, and I don't really like scrubbing at my lips.
These are the three tubes lined up. I'm going to get this for my mother, since she a is a long lasting lip color junkie. Ah, I feel a bit better. Is it wrong that looking at makeup made me feel better? Probably, but I don't care and will be cooing and stroking my makeup. Psychotic much?

Makeup Forever Smokey Lash

I've been cleaning out old makeup and am totally disgusted with myself. Honestly, I wear almost nothing but neutrals, even when I go out, but what do I find in the back of my stash? A rainbow of colors. Do you know what that means? I am a total waster. I hate wasting things, and to see that I was surprised. You know what's worse, CVS is having their sale and I am totally wanting to go back to buy more things that I honestly do not need. Control yourself woman. But when do you tell yourself stop and resist?
Back on track, this review is for the Makeup Forever Smokey Lash mascara. I found this while I was cleaning and got this in Feb. but rarely used it. So if I say anything odd, it might be because its old. So keep that in mind. The brush was a little clumpy looking, a regular sized wand with nothing special.

Nothing on lashes.

One coat. This mascara is fairly black, did ok in holding curls gave volume and no much length. I tell you to look at my bottom lashes because I don't put mascara on them, so if they look darker, its because of the mascara transferring.

It really didn't look like much from the front, but from the side view, that where this mascara look like it doing its job.

Second coat looks like too much, and looks spidery and clumpy.

Side view of lashes. Not really impressed and preferred just one coat. Nothing really special, and was in the 20 dollar price range and would definitely not buy this again. I've had drugstore mascaras that did the same thing and really did nothing for me. The only thing that this would look good on is my lower lashes, but otherwise skip this one.

I'll give you a hint on the next product's longevity. It's been on my hand since Monday, it is now Thursday and I still see traces of it.

Maybelline's Emerald Smokes

I usually don't like to put yellow on my nails because while it looks nice when freshly applied, after a bit of wear on them, they start to make my nails look like they have a yellow like fungus color to them. I don't really do upkeep on my nails, so I rarely put on yellow. But I got bored and copied this idea from someone, don't remember who but sorry. Dare you not to awww over that or at least crack a smile! If you don't, you are one cold hearted mofo, and will flip you off with my angry finger. Let's get to the review. Maybelline's Emerald Smokes was around $6, and main reason that I bought this was for the green color in the upper corner. It reminded me of Mac's Humid, which happens to be one of my favorites. So I got it and was excited to try it out. All of the colors looked nice in the quad, and it was bogof, so yeah, totally sold.
Don't they look similar? Yeah they look alike, but that is where the similarities end. The colors do not show up on the lid without a primer, at all. It looks like a very sheer wash of color with shimmer.
Top row swatched with primer. Bottom row swatched without primer and Humid swatched on the bottom. I packed to colors on with a q-tip for both rows, but they really did not show up well. I just swiped on Humid, and it went on beautifully. Don't get this and there are many other better cheaper eyeshadows that you can get for the price.

Tip: To make sure your nails are 100% dry, rub your nails together, and if you feel it is wet or has friction, it is not completely dry. However, if your nails glide over each other, then presto completely dry nails.

Missha BB Cream

I finally managed to get someone to take the Etude BB cream off of my hands, so I am back with an another one. As you noticed I'm quite addicted to them. This is the Missha Perfect cover BB Cream and is supposed to fill in pores and wrinkles, give great coverage and make your skin healthier. It has an SPF of 42 (I always forget to put on sunblock, so this is good) and in the shade no. 21. It's pretty, and I've mentioned before that this was half the size of the Etude one, but that one was irregularly monstrous, but this has a good amount of product. I got this on my trip in Korea, so not sure how much, but I think it goes for around $16 on ebay. Mint Candy Apple on my nails. I love it.
It looks dark and fairly beige on my skin hand, but when blended out...

Gave my hand a yellow tint, and blended nicely into the skin. Now I have to warn you that I haven't been taking good care of my skin, so its been problematic lately.
You can see all the flaws including, freckles, rosacea, a popped pimple and scarring. Yikes, lets see how it holds up.
Tada! Fairly even skin tone, medium to heavy coverage depending on how much you pile on. I put this on with a good amount and used a foundation brush. It gives a slightly matte finish, with a slight whiteish cast, but that could be because of a combo of flash and SPF. I'm not crazy about this, because once again, it has a strong scent. It has a slightly floral, powdery scent that lingers. I don't know if its a trait for all BB creams, but no more fragrance. Please. Don't know if I would repurchase since I still have two more BB creams in back that need to be used. I'll tell you a secret, I'm a total makeup hoarder. No surprise huh. Oh well, till next time.

Dior Blackout

Yay a mascara review. Diorshow has been my first love and after it went to mascara heaven, I bought its sister Dior Blackout. Expectations were high but at this price range, I should have high hopes and they better be fulfilled. Around $24 for this mascara, it is high on the mascara price range and so pretty to look at. Like Dior show, the wand is huge, and while this may be fine for some, for my tiny asian eyes, NO. I always have to be careful when applying this because more often than not, I will get mascara on my lids. Btw, I just want to let you know, I do not like or really use lengthening mascaras, I prefer volumizing ones. Plain bare eyelashes. I ask you to pay attention to the outer upper lashes that are wonkily sticking out. This will be the best indicator of how the mascara affected my lashes.
Huge. .But oh so sleek and pretty. Look at that wand. Get ready for creepy eye shots.

One coat. You can see that there is a lot more volume and subtle length. This is not a lengthening mascara. It is a volumizing mascara. Nice black lashes, No clumping and gives me great definition to my lashes.

Second coat. More volume, but with that comes clumping. You can go through the trouble of combing them out, but I have no patience and do not do this.

I think this was a better picture of the second coat but instead its sorta creepy. Anyhow, I probably will not be repurchasing this, because I preferred Diorshow. With the other, I could apply two coats and ave it look like falsies without clumping. While this voluminous greatly, with almost no smudging and flaking, its just not really WOW worth $24. So yeah, just because its pricey, doesn't mean its worth it. Btw anyone else want to try the Extase, but can't pay$28, its available as a free sample in Sephora. I probably won't be getting it but I seriously want it. For the next review, I probably don't really have anything that I really want to
show you. Maybe the Missha BB cream. But let's see how things go.

Etude House Peach Base

I got this on my trip to Korea, and thought that this would be a great primer since I have mild rosacea. It is the Etude House Pore Smoothing Peach Base. Comes a nice pump and has a strong fake peach scent. I mentioned that the Tony Moly hand cream had a scent, well this is the same scent. I don't know if the scent of peach is the same in all of the products form Korea, but it smells the same but fades quickly. Applied on my hand, it isn't think but a little on the liquidy side, and it has subtle shimmer in it to give the face a glow, but it wasn't like, why do you have glitter on your face. I put a drop and on the bottom, I blended it out. See, blended out all over my hand now, and it gave my hand a nice sheen to it. But if you notice, it made my hand a shade lighter than what it was before. Yes, you may say its the flash, but I tell you no, its the primer.

This is after I had the primer on my face This is before. Yes, I probably should have done this oppositely but bear with me. I have redness on my cheeks in the 2nd pic, but it's slightly toned down in the first picture.
You have to be careful, because this will give you a whitish cast to your skin if you apply it all over, so I suggest you take a little bit and only apply to the place you have redness. As a primer, my BB Cream stayed on for a bit longer, but nothing too much, and it really didn't do much for oil control. It felt nice on the skin and the BB cream went on better than on bare skin. However, I wouldn't repurchase this again, because its hard to get a hold of, and I really don't like the white, dead look that I get from this. Maybe its all Etude products because my Etude powder foundation also gave me the same sickly zombie like skin tone. I actually had to put on a good amount of blush, and coming from a person who has rosacea on her cheeks, I almost never have to put blush on.
Btw, these two things, especially the Milani. may be my new loves. Sorry Urban Decay, I may turn my back on you.

Fyrinnae Review

Sorry for being away, but yay.. I'm back. No excuses, so lets jump right into it. I got 2 blushes, two highlighters, one oil control powder, and four lipglosses and they are all in sample size. First off the blushes and highlighters,

From L to R: Yellow Highlighter, Pink Highlighter, Charm Blush, and Enchant Blush

With Flash, they all give off a high sheen and there are tiny sparkles in the blushes and the highlighters that I adore. Since I like a matte foundation, and prefer to choose where I like to have a sheen to my face, I tend to go for shimmery blushes often. I didn't really didn't care for the highlighters too much, because they weren't anything special, but the blushes are what really impressed me.

No flash. In the container, I thought they were matte, but upon clearer inspection, it had pink sparkles for the Charm blush, and orange sparkles for Enchant. They are some of the most gorgeous colors that I have, and I would totally repurchase them again in the full tub. I dust Charm on lightly on my skin and it gives me a light pinkish lavender "dolly" look. They last for a long time, and my sister has been taking Charm and using it as an eyeshadow instead. As for the oil control one, I haven't tested that out thoroughly and will tell you if it works out well.

As I mentioned before, the lipglosses are what gave me a bit of a problem, highly pigmented, they have a scent but its different for each lipgloss and none of it is offending. But believe it or not, the highly pigmented part is what gave me a problem.

From L to R: Visual Kei,Pink Guitar,Lollipop Pop, Mega Hold, and Romantique

Imagine having Romantique on your lips exactly how I swatched on my hand, and not sheered out. Yikes! They are not sticky, slides smoothly, no chunky glitter, long lasting and bright. What I do is take a neutral brown color, like Nyx's Thalia or Champagne and apply this over my lip gloss. It tones down the bright colors and makes them more wearable.

This is Visual Kei mixed with Champagne lipstick. I put the lip gloss on the bottom because f I apply it on top, the Visual Kei will overpower the Champagne, and you will get a different brighter color than when you do the opposite. More wearable than ...
this. Don't let the flash fool, you. It is crazy bright on my skin and not to be worn alone in the day for work. It reminds me of Milani In Vogue, minus the fuschia glitter.

Overall, Fyrinnae is a company that I would definitely go back too, especially since I can try samples along with the low shipping costs. The website states to wait 22-28 days but I only waited two weeks, and it is not mass produced one size fits all. You can read more about the company, on their website, and they sent me a sample of a eyeshadow that I will not review since I didn't buy it. But I plan to repurchase their blushes and try out their eyeshadows really soon, so watch out for that. But until then, the next review will be...
