FAIRYDROPS Scandal Queen Mascara

I opened up my Manly palette for the first time in awhile, and look. Can you guess what has vexed me this morning?
In case the picture is unclear, take a good look at the culprit. All over my other shadows and the whole drawer is covered in pearly yellow eyeshadow.
Argh!! The reason for this post is for this, the FAIRYDROPS Scandal Queen Mascara. It looks ever so pretty, but the price is not so nice for $24 at Sephora. I don't have a good picture of my lashes with this mascara, so bear with me. I got one for my sister for her birthday because she was lemming this after a you tube video, and got one for myself to try. Remember ladies, do not share your mascara with anyone.

I loved the brush. It got into every corner of my lashes but the brush can be a bit bulky to work with. I ended up getting quite a bit of mascara onto my lids. This coming from a girl who worships Diorshow mascara, sounds ridiculous, but I had to clean up a lot.
This lengthened my lashes quite a bit, but also volumized my lashes as well. It helped keep the curl, but I wouldn't buy this mascara again. Here comes its bad points. This flaked on me like crazy, after five minutes of application. This didn't happen to my sister and she loves this mascara, so I don't know what happened. The formula is a bit thick, and can get too clumpy with two coats. Thin coats seem to be the key here but I have a feeling that this mascara will dry out quickly and for its over the twenty dollar price, it just doesn't work well enough. I don't want a high maintenance mascara because I tend to just swipe and go so this will not be repurchased. If you have time to work with this mascara, maybe it won't be so bad, but maybe I'll just keep the brush and use it with a different mascara.

Etude House Double Repair House Serum

My hair has gotten fairly long and I love it. I can choose to do many hairstyles and for some reason, having longer hair makes me feel a bit more girly. However, my hair was and still is a hot tangly mess, especially since I've dyed it. Since it's so long, its become prone to tangled knots and split ends. In order to prevent that I've been using Etude House Double Repair House Serum.

*Sorry to say but it seems as if the Etude House American site is shut down. Such a shame because I wanted to get more things from there.

Now, onto the review! It comes in a pinkish orange pump tube and I love it. It's about $13, so it's not the cheapest, especially with shipping.
I don't recommend this for people with shorter hair because it can make your hair look greasy and oily if you're not careful with this stuff. After the shower, and when my hair is relatively dry, I pump once, rub into hands and then work it only to the ends and to the back nape of my hair. My ends are extremely dry and tangled, so I use this to help me smooth out and brush my hair without tugging. Putting this on wet hair is not recommended because the product won't seep into the hair compared to dry hair. By using this product, I've seen a reduction in knots and split ends and it keeps my hair from breaking apart. I plan to grow my hair ridiculously long so I will totally end up repurchasing this when I can.

I've noticed that I review mostly Etude House products, but I have a Skinfood Scrub that I've gotten my hands on, so wait for that.

I'm posting an update for the Kiehl's Highly efficient Skin Tone Corrector. I've been using this for about a week once a day before nighttime and my skin looks relatively good. I haven't broken out from anything major and honestly my skin doesn't look horrifying. This is the after picture.
I didn't hope for miraculous clear skin but some of my scars have gotten a bit lighter. I have rosacea, so my cheeks will always be red, but my overall skin tone on my ace ares have even out nicely. I plan to purchase the full size after since I have hyper pigmentation in some areas, and I am bound to get more pimples and zits. Oh as a caution, I know there is one part of my cheeks that's a bit scabby and red, well that was because it was itch and I began to scratch there before I realized that it was because my pimples were healing. So now they look worse. yay

I can't help it.

I can't really do anything with a vengeance anymore. My skin has gotten horribly out of control and I have run out of my toner for four months. I just didn't have the time to buy it and although my skin is number one priority, I bought so many other new things for my skin that I'm trying out. For instance, I'm trying out Boscia's Willow Bark treatment and its not really making a big difference. This is my skin now.
Aww... So hideous and this is getting better. No new bumps but what I'm left with is acne scarring. I've received a Kiehl's sample along with the avocado eye cream, and I believe that it'll work reduce my scarring.
It's a fairly large sample and I'm just going to spot treat it so wish me luck.

Press Restart

I've been abandoning this blogging business for a while because I can't get into it anymore. Not quite sure where to go with this but I've been uninspired by makeup and writing for a while. I haven't been putting on much and for once. my skin isn't great but its coming along nicely. All I have to worry about now is learning how to fix my acne scars.

One thing have been playing with is learning to draw on eyeliner to best suit my eyes. I've just been following the natural contour of my eye until recently. Little did I know that the end corner of my eye droops down dramatically, making me look tired and sad, especially when I put emphasis on it with back eyeliner. I've been playing with it doing things differently, and because of how my eye droops and how much of it is hooded, I have to play around with what makes my particular shape look better.

A color that I have been loving and using constantly s the Revlon Satin eye shadow in Shimmering Sienna. I got it on sale for 75% off of a normal price of 5.49. Maybe the big discount is the reason I love it so much. It's a chocolate brown with a hint of copper in it with a satin finish. Sometimes a coppery brown makes my eyes look bloodshot, but this does not do that. Richly pigmented without a primer, no fall out, an can be used as a all over lid for a smokier look or just to darked up the crease in a light look but in either case, this color is a real multi-tasker and I love it. I know this sounds strange but it really brings out the brown in my eyes quite nicely.
Wasn't that quite a mouthful for someone who didn't have anything to say? I really don't know how often I'll be writing so be free to jump ship. Totally would not blame you for it. Bye

Merry Christmas

Hope everyone has a great holiday and throws themselves in a pit of gluttony for this holiday. I recently made a small purchase at cherryculture for mostly Nyx products. I can't find Nyx in my neighborhood, so the only way that I'll get some is through the internet. Most of what I had bought was really good, with the exception of these two products. One is the Jordana stick concealer in Light/Medium and the other is Nyx's cream blush in Boho Chic. Something to note is that while the blush looks like a brighter pink. in reality it looks like a muted peachy pink when blended into the skin. I swatched the concealer on top, then the blush, and then the blush blended on the bottom.

The concealer is a dead ringer for my skin color and when blended in, it was perfect. However, when I did let it sit, it slipped off and didn't stay. The reason why it blended so well was because it was so oily, that it spread nicely for a stick concealer but it was too oily to stay on. Plus the stick isn't really hygienic for reapplying purposes, so no repurchasing for me.
Isn't the bush so pretty? The only downside is the amount of sparkle that goes onto my cheeks when I blend this in. Its not the subtle sparkle that catches in the sun but the do you have glitter on your face look. The sparkles aren't chunky like glitter but they are still very bright and noticeable on the skin and it stays for a long time. Long after your blush has faded, the sparkles remain. I tried layering it under powder, but nope, still there. Its much more noticeable in the picture below so take a gander at it.
Once again, hope everyone has a happy holiday and enjoys their days off school or work.

Way Past Due Post

Sorry for the late Thanksgiving post, but hope everyone had a great holiday and now its time to get things started for one of the best holidays of all time. But before that let me tell you that this thanksgiving, I had a great time with family, but the food was blah. Technically, its all my fault, because I'm in charge of the food, but I just don't know what happened.

I'm notoriously known around friends and family for my inability to cook. After copious amounts of begging, groveling and doing demeaning favors, the family allowed me to cook for the holiday. Honestly, I think that they were too lazy to do anything on that day and just said screw it you can slave over a hot stove this year. So I started weeks before, researching simple recipes that we would like and even got a porn magazine for food aka Food Network Magazine to help me out. I have a tendency to fudge a bit on the ingredients, for instance if 1cup of sugar is too much I'll only put 2/3cup. Not this year I went all out but...

Only the ham and the baklava came out good, the rest were...
Dinner Rolls. My goodness the magazine screwed me over something fierce in this lie of a recipe.

A pretzel batter that didn't hold shape.
Store bought apple pie because some things shouldn't be left in my hands.
My famed and successful baklava.

Geez. I don't think that I'll ever make it in the cooking or food styling industry, but this year no one got food poisoning and for that I am ever so grateful. Next year I'm giving up.

I am going on a family vacation, minus the dad who conveniently forgot we had a planned vacation six months in advance and said that he has to work, to Orlando. I've been there several time so I don't know what to even do there but at least its a vacation. Yay!
